The Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation seeks in every endeavor to improve the quality of life and environment for all residents by working to enhance existing and projected recreational and cultural needs for our Bucks County.
Doylestown Borough is a bike-friendly community. Bike racks are provided through out town so riders can park their bike while they shop, visit and dine. The Doylestown Community Bike and Hike Network is a network of 16 miles of completed trails, shared roadways and side-paths for use by bicyclists and pedestrians. The Doylestown trails connect to the larger Pennsylvania system of trails, including Bicycle Route “S” and the 202 Parkway trail, which includes a shoulder bike lane and a separate paved 12-foot wide multi-use trail.
Founded in 1973, the Central Bucks Athletic Association offers recreational and travel soccer, basketball and lacrosse programs to the youth of Central Bucks County, PA. CBAA is a non-profit, charitable organization.
Doylestown Athletic Association (DAA) has been organizing youth sports programs in our community since 1968 with the help of its generous sponsors, volunteer coaches, umpires and officials. Baseball, softball, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball, field hockey.
The Doylestown Dog Park is “membership” facility located on Almshouse Rd between 611 (Easton Rd) and Turk Rd in Doylestown Township at Turk 3 park. Across the street from Bucks County Correctional Facility which is 1260 Almshouse. The dog park consists of 3 separate areas: 1/2 acre for small dogs, 1-1/2 acres for large dogs, 1 acre for rotation of the other two areas to preserve the turf and to be utilized for educational events, training, and agility. Other amenities include: shaded pavilion area, waste bags and covered containers for waste disposal, water fountains, benches, trees and shrubs for screening and shade, and an informational kiosk.
Doylestown’s Youth Fishing Program is a community tradition that dates back as long as anyone now living can remember. Before the start of trout fishing each year, volunteers from around Doylestown clean and prepare the Borough Dam Pond located at Chapman Park. Then volunteers, many of them youths from local schools, stock trout in the pond. Trout range in size from 8 to 24 inches!
When the big day arrives, youth age 16 and under are invited to cast their lines and enjoy a wonderful day of fishing. While fishing is limited, kids from 2 to 102 get to enjoy the fun! Local businesses provide refreshments including hotdogs, water ice, pretzels and candy. It’s a great community celebration and a rite of spring in Doylestown, PA.
Each season, Fanny Chapman Memorial Pools hosts family and individual swim memberships, swim lessons for all ages, and swim and dive teams. A pool membership, whether family or individual, is required to participate is Fanny Chapman Pool programs.
The Doylestown Kids Triathlon was created in 2005 as an introductory triathlon for boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 15. The race is a cooperative effort between Doylestown Borough, Doylestown Township, Fanny Chapman Pool and local triathlon, biking, swimming, and running enthusiasts.
The Newcomers Club of Central Bucks is a non-profit social, recreational, and community organization established to welcome new residents to the Central Bucks community whose mission is to provide information, support, and social activities for members to meet friends and learn about the community.
Doylestown Borough Park and Recreation Programs include summer arts and crafts and outdoor games for children, an annual tennis tournament, summer youth basketball, the youth fishing program and a series of summer children shows.
